Recently I had been teaching a course in Kelowna. One of the topics I covered was "music math" approach to syncing slideshows to music soundtracks. With the right kind of music, you can set your slide timings and you will find that 80% to 90% of your show's transitions will sync to the beat of the music, giving the image transitions a little bit more pop.
The advantage to this is that you also spend less time on the sometimes frustrating timing/tweaking part of the slideshow process. Since I put this together only 48 hours before the meeting, it was a good time to bring out this method. I only had to tweak a half dozen points in the show, and that only took about 10 minutes. The whole show was assembled in less than 30 minutes.
If you find this video "buffering" a lot, pause the video until the play-head bar fills up (the video finishes downloading), then hit play.
